The original walk was narrow, heaved, and ran in a straight diagonal that ignored the front door entirely. Two people couldn't walk it side by side.
We removed the concrete, regraded away from the foundation, and built a 5-foot walk that curves gently around the existing maple and widens to a proper landing at the door.
Three solid granite treads with thermal tops replaced the old poured steps, set on compacted base below frost depth. Recessed riser lighting and low path lights finish the approach.
