The clients were walking through the garage to get to the backyard. A side-yard route existed but it was a mud track on a slope.
We built a 34-inch path with irregular bluestone through the planting beds and set four full-slab bluestone steps into the grade change, all on compacted base.
Path lighting at the step transitions makes the route usable at night, which is when it actually gets walked.
Irregular bluestone flagging
Full-slab bluestone treads
Low-voltage path lighting
